So I realized today that it's been almost a month since the last time I wrote. We have been VERY busy lately...between work (for me) and school (for O) it seems like we barely have time for anything else. No worries though...we haven't had all work and no play. I could've just made a slide show of all our pics, but as you will see, they deserve explanation. Scroll down for a little glimpse of what we've been up to this month...Enjoy!

Labels: Long Time Away

With the arrival of fall and now what feels like winter, I changed out the plain white (off-white really) chandelier shades in our dining room to our more fun and festive ones....

Our fabulous neighbors went hunting and brought us some quail. I'd never had it before, and I was quite amused by them. So I posed them for a few pics before chowing down. I think they need pants. I must say I really enjoyed them. Good with ketchup, and I'm told they are really good on biscuits with honey for breakfast...but I wasn't making any biscuits, so I settled for ketchup....tastes like chicken.

Then there was Halloween. We went totally 80's this year.

I was the girl from Flashdance...

Owen was Billy Idol...

I dyed his hair blonde. We learned that no one should ever trust me with hair dye. (He will not be happy that I put this picture out here!)

He won best costume. But you can be the judge of that... and yes...those are pleather pants.

He still hasn't cut his hair. I'm begging him to 'bic' it and just get rid of it all, but he likes it. Says blondes have more fun...

I went to Atlanta with friends to see The New Kids on the Block. I felt like I was 12 again. It was fabulous. They were not my first concert - that would be The Bangles - but they are definitely on the very top of my most times seen in concert list. In fact they are the only folks I've seen multiple times. Not really an avid concert goer. Seen them in Bham (twice), Atlanta (twice), Florida, Mississippi and Tennessee. Oh yeah....member of the fan club and all. Had a poster that I hung above my bed. Now if only N'Sync would make a come back.

That sign made it from Riverchase to Liberty Park before it flew off the back and almost caused some major traffic malfunctions.

Our friends Kip and Erica came to visit for Kip's birthday. We had a blast with them and were sad to see them go. They are missionaries to Bosnia, but home in Dothan for a few months. We don't get to see them as often as we'd like, but we'll get to see them again soon! Little Anna Kate will join us in January, and we'll be there with bells on!

And that's been the extent of the last few months at the Prescott Place.

I have to go shopping now!! (name that flick)

Labels: Keeping Busy

Now that the election is over, we should all continue to pray for our nation, and for our leaders. There are 2 verses that really hit home with me regarding continuing to pray:

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus" - Philippians 4:6-7

and

"Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus" - 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

We should pray for our new president, and pray that he is ultimately led by God in his duties.

This did not surprise Him.
