Lazy Day
We’ve had quite a lazy day today. Well, I have had quite a lazy day today. I let Owen go play golf with his buddies today, because in the coming weeks I’m not sure he’ll be able to leave me!
We got good news this morning. Only 2 contractions overnight (which I again didn’t feel), and there have been no changes since Friday.
I’m still about 1cm dilated. I say about because it’s kind of a subjective number, but I know it’s no more than 1cm.
Baby is still up high, and is not trying to join us.
As of right now, I’m still allowed to get up to use the restroom, shower and stretch every now and again. But I have to stay lying down all other times in bed.
We will get to see our regular doctor in the morning, and we can’t wait! Although we know she’s not going to tell us anything any different than we’ve already heard, it’s just comforting to get to talk to her about what’s going on, since she knows our history so well. Although really so do all of the other doctors and nurses. They all remember us from 10 months ago!!
We will also get an ultrasound sometime tomorrow. Probably in the morning, but we’re not sure yet. I was mistaken when I said in an earlier post that we would get daily ultrasounds. We’ll get one Tuesday, then probably a few days later…I’m not really sure yet.
The ultrasound will tell us a lot. Making sure the baby hasn’t moved down at all, is still breech and that my fluid levels are still high are all what they will be looking for.
We’re anticipating being here until she’s born. And we’re hoping that is at least a month from now, if not more. There may come a point when we can go home and do this bed rest thing at home, but that will at least be a few weeks from now if we can make it that far. And even that is speculation at this point.
Sayla Grace is being quite the trooper. I’m trying to pretend in my mind that we’re just on vacation and we’ll be home to see her in a few weeks!
She’s come up to visit a few times every day, and has fun playing in the bed with me and trying to chew on my IV tubes and ID bracelets. Today she ate cauliflower in bed with me for the first time and loved it! Little things like that make me happy!
Owen has given me strict instructions that I’m not allowed to cry when she’s here, or he will stop bringing her up here! He wouldn’t really keep her from me, but I do have to watch how upset I get.
Being away from her is the hardest part of all of this, so I would appreciate your prayers specifically in this regard. You mamma’s know the feeling.
I did get my IV out today, which was happy news. The Group B strep test came back negative, so they said I didn’t need the antibiotics anymore. Group B strep is just a type of bacteria that pregnant women can carry and pass on to the baby during delivery, but it’s easily treated with antibiotics prior to delivery.
Since I came in preterm, they automatically treated me with the IV antibiotics until they could get the test results back. But since it came back negative I don’t need the meds any more. My hand sure was happy about that!
That’s really all of the exciting news I have at the moment. I’m passing time by working and watching back to back episodes of Cake Boss on TLC. They do need more channels in this joint!!
